Aristotle

so i was reading today about friendship written by aristotle!  there are three types of friendship...  one type is friendship just for pleasure, another is that friendship is only there for personal benefit (the idea of "may come in handy some day"), and then there is friendship that the outcome of the friend has nothing to do with yourself, when you give to this friend, there is no reason to give but only from the goodness of your heart.

so this is what i got from something Aristotle wrote.

And why i am writing about this is i dont really know if i am a good friend.  but i hope to be one day.  i want to be a good person from the bottom of my heart.  and i guess starting as a good friend works right?

I wonder if being a friend for fun has a purpose, that is having fun. If you have "fun Friends" that you're not having fun with, then you won't be friends, right?

Having friends to get something makes your friendship last as long as you are benefiting each other with the thing, such as work/money, church/faith,etc.

Then there are friends you just love for no reason. In a way that is everyone because you don't keep track of any return you get. Whoever is around you, you will be kind and helpful to and you don't care what you get in return and you don't keep a count of how much you've done for them. The return you get is a feeling that you are somehow making a difference.

So, I wonder if every friendship must have a purpose or it will never happen.
